From this position you look at the sea off the coast of St. Vincent the coast of Follonica, the island of Elba, the other islands adicenti and a beautiful sunset that only the Etruscan Coast can offer.

The 3 ground floor apartments typically offer unique and rare, consisting of important and traditional stone walls adorned with fossils and historical original vaulted ceilings that retain the atmosphere of yesteryear.

Each apartment has separate entrance consists of a dining area with sofa bed, kitchen brick regularly equipped and furnished with a microwave and washing machine, a very large double room with possibility 'of an extra bed, bathroom with shower cabin.

Outside each apartment has an area with table and chairs and / or porch where you can possibly eat.
The apartments are equipped with television, air conditioning and / or heated.

Farmhouse rental
The farmhouse when rented as a whole house, offers self-catering accommodation for up to 8 people, consisting of upstairs, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and kitchen and downstairs and a further bedroom, bathroom and living room. There are 3 private terraces surrounding the house offering ample opportunity for al-fresco dining, sunbathing or just relaxing in the tranquil Bovecchie valley. The lower floor of the house is reached via outside steps on both sides of the house.
There are breathtaking views in every direction, and due to the unspoilt nature of the valley there is an interesting variety of wildlife including badgers, deer and eagles.

Apartment rental
The 3 apartments in Casa Vecchia are self catering, each with their own separate entrance and private terrace and have been traditionally fitted to a high standard. They all benefit from their own kitchen, private bathroom and living room. A further self catering apartment is available to rent in Casa Alta - our Villa, about 80 meters further up the valley.

Combined Apartment rental
Apartments Olivi and Limone can be rented together to provide spacious self-catering accomodation for up to 6 people. They provide 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and kitchen, with 2 private terraces outside for al fresco dining, sunbathing or just relaxing in the tranquil Bovecchie valley.
3 beautiful traditional stone farmhouses dating back to the 1700's, set in 8 acres of Olive groves and woodland. All 3 houses were abandoned more than 30 years ago, and a local family firm of builders has worked with great care and attention to restore the first 2 houses, one of which is our home.
The second farmhouse, Casa Vecchia, offers flexible holiday accommodation, and can be rented as 3 independent apartments, rentable individually or combined to suit your needs.

Each area has its own typical, characteristic products: Siena is famous for its panforte cake and ricciarelli almond biscuits, while the nearby rural areas are well-known for the production of cinta senese pork salami products and for cacio pecorino cheese made in the area to the south of Siena known as “le Crete”. The Chianti area is famous for its wonderful extra virgin olive oil and most importantly for its red wine: Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montepulciano. In Florence visitors must try the ribollita soup and the famous "Fiorentina" steak, coming from the Chianina breed of cows. The property is situated on an acre of land on a hillside overlooking the ruins of a tenth century fortress.

At the bottom of the hill, just 6 minutes away, is the bustling township of Piazza al Serchio.

It's fascinating to be part of village life, even for only a week, where lining up for one's deli items amongst the locals, part of whose daily activities is to connect with other villagers and shop for their 'daily bread', is a treat not often available in our own cultures.

We purchased the villa, with considerable difficulty, and spent two years having it restored by an amazing local team of tradesmen, instructed by fax from Australia in our less than perfect Italian. The result was stunning and the villa has been enjoyed by ourselves and many guests in the past years.

In 1998 we restored the old barn into a studio; perfect accommodation for a couple or small family.


"I Cinghiali" is our home, not just a rental property and we like to make sure each rental is a win-win situation.
